TRUMPF, Inc. has recently opened their new Additive Manufacturing Lab in Plymouth, MI. The Additive Lab currently features the TruPrint 3000, TruPrint 1000, and TruLaser Cell 3000. The TruPrint systems present TRUMPF’s Laser Metal Fusion operation, a powder-bed fusion process, commonly referred to as 3D printing. The TruLaser Cell 3000 highlights TRUMPF’s Laser Metal Deposition operation, a directed energy deposition process, commonly referred to as cladding. Both systems are fully capable of processing various metal powders including popular alloys of stainless steel, tool steel, nickel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and aluminum. TRUMPF’s Industrial Parts and Powder Management solution is also demonstrated within the walls of the Additive Lab. This system of equipment streamlines the Laser Metal Fusion production process thereby increasing throughput and minimizing operator exposure to raw materials. TRUMPF’s Additive Manufacturing Lab is an exemplification of how TRUMPF, Inc. provides the Industrial Additive Technology Solution.
