Knust-Godwin, a Katy, TX-based tooling and component manufacturer, has announced the purchase of its first Sapphire metal additive manufacturing (AM) system from Velo3D, Campbell, CA. Known for producing quality parts with low-angle geometries and without support structures, the solution consists of Flow advanced preprint software, Sapphire printer, and Assure quality management software. It joins Knust-Godwin’s seven metal AM machines in Katy, TX. Knust-Godwin will take delivery of the Sapphire printer during this first quarter of 2020 and has already secured customer orders to print end-use parts for the oil service industry.
