New Large-Area Binder Jetting Printer for Metals and Ceramics

Tuesday, December 17, 2019

ExOne has debuted the X1 160Pro, the 10th, and largest, metal 3D printer from ExOne. Employing binder jetting technology, the printer offers a build area of 800 by 500 by 400 mm, totaling 160 liters of build volume. Its open material system prints more than six metals, plus ceramics.

The X1 160Pro features ExOne’s newly patented Triple Advanced Compaction Technology (ACT) system, providing for high part density and repeatability, according to company officials. ACT reportedly meets some of the biggest challenges in binder jetting: dispensing, spreading and compacting ultra-fine metal powders.
