Fagor Arrasate, a Spain-based manufacturer of metalforming machine tools, has announced the opening of a $5.3-million facility to supply stamping systems and presses to manufacturers throughout Latin America.
“The start-up of this plant represents the logical consequence to the progressive growth of orders in Mexico, and will allow Fagor Arrasate to consolidate its important presence in the Mexican market and NAFTA,” says a company statement.
According to its executives, Mexico is Fagor’s third biggest market, just behind China and Germany. Some of its customers in Mexico are Volkswagen, Cie Automotive, Gestamp, Metalsa, Mabe, Whirlpool, Electrolux, Grupo ABX, Ternium and Thyssenkrupp Materials of Mexico.
