The tagline, “For Users, By Users,” accurately describes the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) Conference, set to convene April 3-7 at the Hilton Chicago, with courses and a tour beginning April 2.
Targeting owners and operators of industrial additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, this event includes keynotes, panel discussions, technical sessions and hands-on workshops designed to help users get more from, and do more with, their AM solutions. As an AMUG Gold Sponsor, 3D Metal Printing supports the AMUG mission and will be present throughout the conference.
Building on the success of past agendas, AMUG is adjusting its 2022 conference program to deliver more training and hands-on experiences, say AMUG officials. For example, workshops and training labs will offer engaging environments where the AM tools serve as the focal point of information exchange. Daily track sessions include Aerospace/Transportation; Med- ical and Dental; Materials; Casting; AM Metal Technologies; AM Nonmetal Tech- nologies; Scanning and Metrology; Edu- cation and Training; and Software.
After a pandemic-caused cancelation of AMUG 2020, the 2021 Conference wel-
comed close to 1000 attendees to Orlando, FL. Expect a significant bump in those numbers this year, considering that the 2019 AMUG Conference in Chicago boasted a record 2000+ attendees and 93 exhibitors. And, expect no shortage of professional AM education and technology, networking, and recognition of AM excellence. For details, including a schedule of events and presentations, and to reserve your spot at AMUG, visit www.amug.com. And, a mobile app for the conference will soon be avail- able—details to follow on the website.
The conference agenda is expected to offer as many as 160 presentations and hands-on workshops. One highlight: the seventh annual Innovators Showcase, an on-stage fireside chat where attendees get to know an innovator in the industry and discover insights from that individ- ual’s experiences. This year’s subject, Andy Christensen, is founder and past president of Medical Modeling Inc. The conference program also includes the AMUGexpo, expected to include 138 participating companies, on Sunday, April 3, and Mon- day, April 4.
The programming doesn’t stop there. Through AMUG’s Innovators Award, Dis- tinguished INnovator Operators (DINO) Awards and Technical Competition, excel-
