H13 Tool-Steel Powder Now Available for Digital Metal Binder Jet Printers

At Formnext…Digital Metal announced availability of H13 metal powder, to be known as DM H13, for all of its metal binder jet printers. The hot-work tool steel can maintain its strength and hardness when exposed to high temperatures, and exhibits good resistance to thermal fatigue. As an abrasion-resistant metal, H13 commonly is found in forming tools such as extrusion dies and injection molds.

Adding this certified metal to the Digital Metal material library will allow printing of complex and detailed H13 parts, note Digital Metal officials, with properties that can be tailored toward application-specific requirements through post-sintering heat treatments.
