Powders Provide Tooling Flexibility
May 1, 2019The tooling market offers optimal applications for additive manufacturing with increasing production demands, short run series and shorter lead times. In response to this need, Voestalpine AG and its high-performance metals division companies continue to launch new products. Last year Uddeholm launched AM Corrax powder, specifically designed with the needs of plastic injection molders in mind. Purpose-made for AM with a unique set of properties, the powder reportedly combines superior corrosion resistance combined with high hardness. Meanwhile, Böhler offers its Ampo product line of tool steel, high-speed steel, corrosion-resistant steel and nickel-alloy AM powders.
