New Research Center for 3D Metal Printing Opens in Dusseldorf

The voestalpine Group has opened an R & D center for 3D printing of metal parts at its site in Düsseldorf, Germany. The facility will conduct research activities focused primarily on developing complex and lightweight metal components for use in aviation and aerospace, the automotive industry, tool manufacturing, etc. In addition, voestalpine has invested in new metal-powder atomization facilities at subsidiary companies Böhler Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG in Austria, and Uddeholms AB in Sweden, to supply the Düsseldorf site.
